Manchester is a swanky city... Possibly the equivalent of Austin in Texas terms. It happened to be the Manchester International Festival, and as part of the event, Zaha Hadid had constructed a concert pavilion at the Manchester Art Gallery. I took a daytrip just to see Hadid's pavilion, and had the amazing luck to see a violin performance there. I made two friends in Manchester, both recent architecture graduates who noticed me taking a billion photos. We went to explore the town, saw a RIBA photo exhibition, and had a meal together before we parted ways and I hopped on the train back to Hertford. I heart Manchester.
