happy birthday to me...

my first 3-d print

I've started using a program called Rhino this semester - it's really popular for its ease with curves and organic modeling. After making the under-belly of my building for my studio project, I decided to 3-D print a model of it. The 3-D printer slices the model up, and builds it layer by layer using tiny drops of melted ABS plastic. Nine hours later, voila!

[re]act: chair installation

An organization called "[re]act" put together an installation of chairs in the atrium of the College of Architecture, changing the configuration daily or multiple times each day. This was my favorite setup... As the atrium has largely been empty lately, it's neat to see how the chairs affect the flow of traffic through the building, and if, when, and how people use the chairs.

dean's "meet and greet" poster

I made a few poster options for Dean Oliver, who will be hosting a "meet and greet" event to introduce herself and converse with the student body. Can you guess which poster she chose? (Hint: It's after the first one and before the third one)

collective works raffle

After some blood, sweat, and time.... The Collective Works raffle fundraiser is finally here. I'm really pleased with the outcome - I lasercut layers of cardboard for the signage and the display stands, and spray-mounted the speech-bubbles. A few student council members helped me with the grunt-work. The crown-jewel of the raffle prizes is an Eames LCW.

flyers

I made these flyers for a raffle that Student Council is throwing, to raise money to publish Collective Works Volume 2. It's been fun to do some branding and graphics... If there were only more hours in the day...
